While The Dancer's EDGE is much more than a building, that doesn't change how proud we are of our facility. With over 30,000 custom-built square feet and nine studio rooms, The Dancer's EDGE is one of the largest private dance studios in America and was painstakingly designed with function and comfort in mind. While waiting for their dancer to finish, parents and families can enjoy free wifi, spacious couches, chairs, and tables along with the chance to watch every new step through our large viewing windows.
One of the largest dance studios in the United States, the Dancer’s EDGE just outside of Cedar Rapids, IA is over 30,000 custom-built square feet, with nine studio rooms built to reduce dancer injury and maximize comfort for waiting families.
The main entrance to the Dancer’s EDGE is located right off of Hawkeye Drive in Hiawatha, HI. Conveniently located just minutes from Boyson Rd. and Center Point Road.
Staff is on hand at our front desk to assist families and dancers in finding exactly what they need during class hours. Also stop by our EDGE Apparel shop to find tap, ballet, jazz, lyrical, and hip hop shoes along with an array of dance wear including leotards, tights, skirts, and much more.
Part of the original studio, the north corridor includes one of the largest studio rooms, as well as, two smaller dance studios where you can often find our tiny dancer classes (for toddlers and children aged 3-5).
Seating is provided outside every room. Whether you’d like to sit back and relax or watch your student light up the dance floor, there’s a space for everyone.
There are nine dance studio rooms at the Dancer’s EDGE labeled A-G. Our goal is to make it easy for any new student or family to find where they’re going. Should you have any trouble, simply stop by our front desk and we’ll be happy to direct you.
All our studios are built for maximum performance in any dance genre, but we built one room, specifically designed for tap classes. Wall-to-wall bamboo flooring means that dancer’s can hear each riff and rhythm.
The newest addition to the building, the south corridor includes four dance studio rooms, the dancer’s lounge, the cafe, the EDGE Apparel dance-wear shop, as well as staff offices.
Whether they’re catching up on homework between classes or just swapping out a pair of ballet shoes for jazz, we wanted to create a home-base for our dancers. A place for their shoes and a place to relax.
With hundreds of students, parents, and families roaming our halls each week, one thing we made sure of in our new addition was a restroom with extra leg room. For every quick change and potty break you or your student may need.
Each of our studios were built with floors that are specifically designed to prevent dancer injury. Studio A is the largest dance room in our building. It was built to fit hundreds of dancers so that we can accommodate large productions, workshops, and masterclasses from the industry’s top talent.
Whether siblings need a space to enjoy a meal or parents just want a space away from the lobby, the dining area provides another option for dancers and their families.
Our instructors and staff work tirelessly to create the best environment for our dancers, young and old, so while it’s not open to the public, you can rest assured we’ve created a space for our faculty to relax as well.
